Job opportunity for DevOps Engineer

About CBR

The Centre for Brain Research (CBR) is an autonomous, non-profit research organization in the Indian Institute of Science campus, Bangalore. At CBR, we develop and foster large scale focused research programmes and build capacity for inter-disciplinary neuroscience research in the country that would set the stage for Indian scientists to contribute in a significant manner to the endeavour of understanding the aging brain and discovering rational therapies and cures for neurodegenerative disorders. An essential component in this research is the development and application of AI/ML algorithms using the large amount of data from longitudinal studies gathered over years.

Role and responsibilities

As DevOps engineer at CBR, you will be a member of the CBR Technology team, and will be responsible for the following on CBR’s in-house data centre high performance computing and storage systems.

  • Designing, building, deploying, and managing cloud applications and infrastructure: Using automation, configuration management, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) to enable containerized applications (Docker on Kubernetes).
  • Collaborating with development teams: Working closely with data scientists and AI/ML engineers to ensure application scalability and reliability, and to optimize CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implementing automation scripts: Developing and maintaining scripts for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
  • Ensuring security and compliance: Implementing security best practices and evaluating emerging cloud technologies to reduce operational costs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues in cloud systems, and implementing monitoring and alerting systems to prevent downtime and improve system performance.
